Perlow-Stevens Gallery in the News

My new series, Terra Nullius, is still showing at the PS:Gallery in Columbia, Missouri. Please go see it if you are anywhere near, this will be the only chance to see it as a full collection.

Jennifer Perlow says in an article in the Columbia Tribune:  (pdf)

Perlow wants people to come in and see how Dahlquist’s art changes so much with the light. “They are quieter and still and lovely…Her intent is to take away enough so that you stop asking where it is. It’s recognizable as a landscape, but it’s not so literal a translation that the viewer begins to try to discern the location of each photo.”

Chris Dahlquist’ Dreamscapes by Tom Ryan

“Her landscapes, or rather, skyscapes, give one the intellectual elbow room to dream a bit. She takes you to that in-between place in life, like the space between sleep and awake on those nice mornings when you awaken without the alarm.

A life of modern communication, one that includes reading online, challenges us to be careful curators in a way. We work to choose what we sense, given the myriad of choices. Once in a while, we deserve to see and experience art in the real sense. Dahlquist’s work can be viewed online, but the artifact and her presentation of it is a rich experience.”  Tom Ryan
